Happy Birthday Mikey!!!!!!!!

Yes!!! It is my hero, Michael Waltrip's Birthday today! I won't say how old he is, but he is still young to me!!! I would KILL to be able to celebrate with him...LOL!! Since I will be going to the track on friday, I am going to hand deliver this card to either DW, or Steve Byrnes, or whoever I can get to take it and promise to give it to him!!! Love ya Mikey and hope you have a GREAT BIRTHDAY! Bring home the checkers here in my hometown this weekend for me and YOU!

Ad this~ April 20th Ad

The ad this week on Ad This....well.....i think it was MEANT for me!!! It is an ad featuring vintage NASCAR! I am all over that eh? I noticed that everyone else took the 'collage' aspect away from the ad....but I took the nascar away from it! I used pictures from last years Talladega Trip, and a sketch from Simply Scrapping ,bonus sketch #17! I have SO many pics from that race, that I am always happy when I have a chance to get some of them scrapped! Thanks to Ad this and simply scrapping for the challenge!

55....my most FAVORITE number!!! and it is day 55 on 365 cards today! I just saw it as a chance to use that as my title....LOL!!! So....todays challenge (#55!) was to follow a specific 'recipe'. The recipe was: 1 5X5 piece of solid cardstock, 1 4X4 piece of patterned paper, 1 shape (solid in color), 3 jewels, and alpabet stickers. This was not easy!!! I decided to use this opportunity to make a wedding card for a friend who is getting married tomorrow...talk about waiting til the last minute eh?

on to Day 54: Recycled Elements. Had to use something recycled on this one.....and anyone who knows me, knows I have ALOT of beer caps laying around! This was easy! I just took 3 caps, flipped them over and put patterned paper in them, and some glossy accents, and they looked beautiful! (not that they weren't beautiful before....bud light caps...a beautiful thing!) They made the perfect accents to my tree.......

and last but not least (for now!) Day 53: Fun with Fruit! and back to the booze thing....(seems to be a recurring theme with me!), I had to make a card with WINE! grapes are fruit eh??? Just seemed logical to me!!!

Hope you enjoyed my cards today, I had fun making them over teh past few days! Now I HAVE to talk about the beautiful show I just watched....Michael Waltrip was on Trackside Live tonight. OMG...we all know how much i LOVE him, want to marry him (even though i am already married, a girl can dream!), have his kids, etc.....well....tonight just , well...WOW! He had this whole 5:00 shadow thing going, and man....words can't even describe it......except, I couldn't even scrap while it was on, I just had to STARE at my TV! I cannot WAIT to go to the Race in 1 WEEK! Anyways....it is over now, and I am back to scrapping/cardmaking....hoping to get a few more things done tonight!!! Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Simply Scrapping Sketch 16

Ok...yet another LO for ya! This time it is another sketch from Simply Scrapping....gotta LOVE those sketches! I used Basic Grey Porcelain patterned paper, Prima Cardstock, Grungeboard for my title and tall flower embellishments, oh! and the question marks are also grungeboard, but i cut them out with my cricut! i am LOVING the deep cut blade! yay! All grungeboard is painted with making memories paint, and the flowers are covered with clear microbeads as well. I added some distress stickles and covered teh whole thing with glimmer mist when i was done! (yeah....the glimmer mist kind of 'spotched'but, at that point....oh well!!). I REALLY liked this sketch, so simple, yet so many possibilites! Here is the sketch:

Well...tomorrow is friday! YAY! I will be posting a fab new color challenge over at If the Shoe Fits....Scrap it! AND....it is Nascar on Speed day! WOOHOO!!! So after I run around like mad all morning I will be home kicking my feet up and watching some racing and eye candy all in one! Michael Waltrip will be gracing the Trackside Stage tomorrow night...sadly....one week EARLY! AS if he was doing it for Richmond NEXT WEEK....I could see it in PERSON! Oh well...there will be other opportunities I'm sure.....the year is still young......stay tuned for some CARDS real soon! I'm about to start cardmaking!

Scrapmojo Challenge 33

Well..Im finally back from my trip and I feel like I found my MOJO again! Scrap-mojo that is! I finished up a Layout today for the Scrapmojo blog! The challenge was to use something from the movie Peter Pan! I LOVE that movie! always have! So this one was easy to come up with....and of course my kids are the perfect target..LOL! A few weeks ago, I walked away for not 3 MINUTES, and they found a green marker....and colored EVERYTHING! They colored their nosed, arms, my coffee table, bookcase, walls....the list goes on. Yes, I was mad, but what ADORABLE pictures! So the title of my layout is " I NEVER want to grow up..." and the journalling says "...because if I grow up, I can't color my nose GREEN anymore!" I think it fits! The other part of the challenge was to use a frame, so I put a frame around the title, and the 2 small pictures are also framed. Oh.....and of course, I double dipped this with a challenge that I myself made on Scrapnmoms on Cafemom.....to use a half pagemap and mount it on a 12X12....2 things done in one night! AND I got to watch Michael Waltrip on TWIN tonight! AND I got to webcam with 2 fabulous ladies.....what a great night! (except I need to be back up in 7 hours...I need to get to bed!) NIGHT!

Ad this challenge

I have done something different today....I did a challenge based on and AD, thanks to the Ad this blog challenge. The challenge is simple....to use an ad and be inspired! The twist was to use a liquid medium and stamps! Well...my liquid medium is paint and glimmer mist, my letters for the words "this is" are painted AND glimmer misted. Also, some of my flowers are glimmer misted. AND...thanks to a fabulous trip to Crafts 2000 today...I did LOTS of stamping on this LO! There is a stamped border around the picture, stamped journal box, stamped bird, and the word 'me' is stamped, along with the border around the word 'me'. What I took away from this Ad is in my title...the 'this is' part...from the ad.....and the kind of circle around the picture....kind of represents the peace sign?? I tried...LOL! Even if it is a far cry, i DID in fact start from the AD...therefore making this and AD inspired LO!!!

In nascar news...I am so OUT of IT! being away from home does that to me....I am assuming tomorrow is nascar hottie day on tv? Not sure....but am hoping!!! Saturday night race this weekend, so...qualifying MUST be tomorrow...lookin' forward to some eye candy!! Go MIKEY! Do me proud!!!

Cards that is.....! I completed todays card challenge at 365 cards, and day 44! and here they are!!!!!!

first is todays...day 46: matchbook card!!! this card is so cool!!! i love the way it stays together....like a real matchbook!!

and here is day 44: the money holder. i forgot to photograph the inside, but i SWEAR it holds money!!! who wants me to send this one to them????? LOL!!!!!!!!

i'm back!!!!

Yes! finally!!! i am back to the world of the internet, and scrapping!!! I got to my SIL's house this afternoon and this evening was able to FINALLY do some crafting!! I may not have gotten much done, but at least it is a start! This is a card I made for todays challenge at 365 cards...day 45: trifold card. This was alot of fun and suprisingly easier than it looks! I used my brand new La Creme matstack that I picked up this past weekend....BEAUTIFUL paper...makes cardmaking EASY with such beautiful paper!!! I started to make another card for 365, but fatigue has overcome me....all the driving I have been doing...ugh! My SIL and I have a whole day of scrappiness planned for tomorrow, so I need to rest up so many more cards/layouts can be made!!!

I REALLY like the title over at 365 cards today...so I had to give it a try!!! The challenge today, for day 38, was to use this template to make a card!

So...I got out my needle and thread (LOL!) and started quilting!!! Actually...I got out my gel pen and started FAKE quilting...much faster!!!

I'm very sad today though....I will be packing up and heading to visit family for a while...and won't get to scrap much for the first half of my trip...guess I won't be catching up on all the cards for a while....guess I will just have to have another marathon card making day eh? I'll check back in as often as I can and HOPEFULLY get my scrappy fix once or twice!!!!!!!

Well..I took some time off from cardmaking lately, but am happy to report...I'm BACK!!! I made 5 cards today actually! 2 were for my blog If the shoe fits...scrap it, and 3 were for 365 Cards! Plus, I have a card from the other night I forgot to post for 365!! I have REALLY fallen behind over there with this break! Catching up will be fun though right? LOL!!! So...without further ado....my cards!

First one if for today, day 36: super sketchy sunday. Here is my adaptation to the sketch, it is pretty much well...the sketch!

on to day 34: that's egg-cellent! My card used a bunch of eggs! I actually scraplifted this card from my BFF Lesley, she made a card very similar for our blog a while back, and i LOVED it..so...i copied!

and for day 33: White Space...this one was EASY! I love easy!!! didn't take long to make a nice negative space card!!!

You might be wondering...how did I get all this done today??? WELL...my husband decided to FINALLY give me a DAY! So...he packed up the kids and took them to his brothers for the day...how GREAT! I sat my butt on the couch with all my scrapstuff, my computer, a case of beer, and my nascar! It was wonderfully relaxing! So much so, that i am ready to fall asleep and it is only 7pm!! My Mikey didn't have a great day, but I DID! As I was able to focus ALL my attention on the race and my cardmaking! I hope he does that again...i REALLY needed it!!!

As if I needed anything else....I now have another thing to add to my Michael Waltrip collection. I made this for a challenge on cafemom, and as soon as I saw the challenge, I KNEW what I was going to make! It is an altered coaster, magnet! So...I can proudly display it on my refrigerator. I don't think I had anything of Mikey in my kitchen....so...now I do!!!

Qualifying just ended at Texas Motor Speedway, and OMG! MWR has the pole! Yes...David 'the franchise' Reutimann is sitting on the pole! WTG GUYS! Can't wait for the race this Sunday WHICH I get to watch in peace and quiet, as my husband has told me he is taking the kids to his brothers for the day! WOOHOOOO!!! My first time ALONE in my house! A case of beer and nascar is all I will need! Oh...and my new favorite online video...yes..MWR news has a video now of Michaels Weekend Workout! SERIOUSLY! I watched it in AWE! I think they may have put it on there just for me....(one can only hope...!) *sigh* Now off to do some more crafting....Have a great weekend everyone!
