I made this card tonight , of course using Jon as inspiration !
I can't decide which way I should photograph it though, I always struggle with this part....should it be this way:
or is this way better:
Either way, I'm entering it in MUSE #36, featuring this lovely card by Karen M:
And now for the exciting part!!!
For those of you who don't know me personally, you may wonder why my blog is titled 'scrappin' trackside'...the scrappin' part is probably easily explained....was for my scrapbooking (before i turned more to card making!) But the trackside part....that is for my love of nascar! Ever since I became a working mom, I haven't had time to attend races as much. I used to go several times a year, to see my favorite driver, and friend, Brian Scott race! Now...I'm lucky to go once a year. Well, yesterday, I went to Dover to see him race! Brian is an awesome guy as well as talented driver! He hooked me up with some sweet passes so I got a behind the scenes view of the race. Here are a few pictures....I had a great time!
This one is me, my girls and Brian before the race
Me and Jon
Me and my friend Valerie hanging out in Victory Lane
Brian with his little girl before driver intros....sitting next to Joey Logano, who ended up winning the race actually...
Me and Valerie in our AWESOME seats :)
one of the million pictures of I took during the race....was pretty cool seeing the pitstop up close and personal!!
So yeah...that was a good fun day!! Looking forward to my next race which will be...oh....in about a year;)thanks for visiting my blog today!

I prefer the first one (less shadow) ... and I love your design ... perfect balance.
ReplyDeleteCool Times!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your Colors and the effect for the DD and the Muse challenge!!! ....And hey, both angles look great!! I sometimes take a zillion pics LOL....
I love your card - the colour is so pretty and the design is fab! Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you that you had the opportunity to attend the NASCAR event at Dover!
ReplyDeleteI love your card and plan on voting for you in the Muse challenge. I would love to know what products you used in making this pretty card .... what stamps and inks.
thank you so much! products....hmmm....i used distress inks for the inking. colors....worn lipstick, spun sugar, i think i threw some victorian velvet in there, and maybe a little of the seasonal bright pink color whose name is escaping me now (im at work!) I stamped the puzzle stamps with versamark and embossed with clear before inking over for the emboss resist look. thank you again for the nice comment and vote! i need to go vote actually too ;)
DeleteThank you, Tracey, for the ink color information (I'll bet you did use some Victorian Velvet .... I love that color)! By the way, I'd love to know the stamp company that makes those puzzle stamps. They are so cute with the sentiment you used on your card. Could you share the name of the stamp company, too?
DeleteHope you win a top spot at Muse this week!
victorian velvet is pretty ;) the stamp set is by unity stamps. it is called 'love you to pieces'! I got it a few yrs ago free with a purchase but im sure it is available to purchase somewhere on there! thanks again for your awesome comments!!!
DeleteMany thanks, Tracey! I'll go check it out!
DeleteOh I love these jigsaw pieces, I don't think I've ever seen any before. Great interpretation of the Muse and I love how you have combined it with colours of Dynamic Duos challenge. Fab job :)
ReplyDeleteGreat interpretation of the Muse. The puzzle pieces, the RED - very appealing. (BTW, I like the 2nd photo better. I think it just gives more dimension than a flat on shot.)
ReplyDeleteThe puzzle pieces are just fabulous! Thank you so much for joining us this week at Dynamic Duos!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the falling puzzle pieces - like they're falling into place! Thanks for joining us at Muse this week (sorry, it's really last week now - sorry to be so late commenting!)
