SNOW!!!

Every since we have lived here in Virginia, we have not had any snow. There have been several times that they forecast a huge storm for us...but it NEVER happens! So this time, when the big storm got all hyped up...I didn't get my hopes up...until.....it HAPPENED! We got about 7 or 8 inches of the cold white stuff! Kids were THRILLED! They have never gotten to play in snow before!!! So now, I will be scrapping SNOW PICS!!!
The other story behind this layout..kind of funny...
Les and I planned to have an entire day of scrapping yesterday. The snow had other ideas...lol! My power went out! So....I couldnt' do anything til it came back, which was almost 4pm! We did eventually sit down to scrap, just alot later than I had hoped! When we have out little 'scrapfest' days..we like to issue challenges to each other. Les picked the sketch (from pencillines), and the primary color (blue)..I picked another color (cream) and added buttons as our embellie! Here is the finished snowy product!

Well, I was kind of in the mood to craft tonight, kind of not...lol! I found a few challenges and went for it. Turns out....I don't have many bear stamps! I did find this one so I could play along! Keep this inmind...this card looks WAY better in person! This picture, well, it lookslike my 5 year old made this! I really do like it better in person, not sure why it looks so bad in the picture!!! It is a nice simple everyday card! challenges listed below!

1. die cut dreams: challenge 32: bears!
2. incy wincy: buttons, bows, ribbon and lace! i think i only needed to do one of them....i got ribbon!
3. colourQ: red, blue, teal, black, white! thankyou american crafts!

well, thats it! i'm planning 'scrapfest 2010' tomorrow.....so...lots of stuff will hopefully get created! please don't judge this card here by the pic....it really is kind of cute, lol!

There challenge was to let the sunshine in! I had to use bright colors or YELLOW! I tried to put as much yellow as i could in here! Lately, all I seem to be doing is making tons and tons of cards....I have gotten away from what I truly love...making layouts! So...I spent the day searching for new places to find scrappy inspiration! I found a few....and incorporated them into this!

The first site I found is called Scrapjacked! This is a pretty cool blog! They post a layout and then, everyone 'jacks' it! This is the amazing layout that is posted now to 'jack': It is by an incredibly talented crafter named Caroline, and this is where I got the inspiration for my layout!

The other site I found today is called 52X52....and this weeks challenge was to use a bird on your layout. DONE! He is kind of hard to see, but in my first detail pic, you can see him hiding out on top of the flower next to the title!
So now I feel better...I got one page done today! Now I want to make more! LOL! off to find some more inspiration!

How cute is this hedgehog??!!

I started out this evening making a pink and brown card for Allsorts Challenge blog...and then I saw this sketch on Crazy 4 Challenges......
I originally had a little pink and brown snail to put on here....and then I thought of the tree...the snail didn't match the tree....but the hedgehog DID! So...the snail I am saving for later because, man...the hedgehog is just too stinkin cute! Oh...and all supplies for this card....Close To My Heart! Twitterpated paper pack, and Grown with Love stamp set. The hedgehog can be found on a special stampset that comes with the twitterpated workshops on the go...ask your consultant if you like him! (cough cough..im a consultant!!! let me know if you like the hedgehog...i'll hook u up!)

I Finally used my Cricut again!

Over the past 2 years I have managed to accumulate around 30 cartridges, and a gypsy for my cricut. I NEVER USE THEM! I think it is because it always seems such a pain to have to cut out like 6 different colors of paper for one diecut to look decent! So...I just don't do it. Well...the other day, I got an idea...what if I cut all the layers in white, and use my copics to color them?? Hmmmm.....it WORKED! YES! I made all kinds of things! I now have a little stash of diecuts ready to be used! Here is the first one I actually used....an adorable doggie! Can you tell that he is colored? Maybe a little, but, I think it worked out ok! I even made sure to color him colors that fit with a challenge...heehee! ( I did this with alot of them, so more will be popping up in the next few days!) Challenges for this card listed below!

1. Clearly iStamp: this is their sketch this week below....I don't have any of their stamps, so, I used my doggie diecut! The sentiment is a CTMH stamp!

2. Colour Create: colors were kraft, blue and white with the option of texture! I used all of them!

3D challenge over at Digi-Kitty!

Digi-Kitty's Meow Meow Monday Challenge this week is to go 3D with your project! All you have to do is add some dimension, and use a Digi-Kitty stamp and you are good to go! I was lucky enough to be a guest designer for this challenge so I played along with the rest of the gals. The DT used the Love Bird set for this challenge which can be found HERE. This set is just adorable! I was tickled to be able to use more adorable bird stamps! Here is my sample for the challenge....I popped the birds up off of the tree. I actually popped their wings up even higher, but that is difficult to see, even in my detail shot:

Sketchy Thursdays GDT app....take two!

I am trying once again to be guest designer over at Sketchy Thursdays....the competition is fierce! Some uber-talented ladies all giving it a go...hope I can compete! The challenge this time was vintage. I did my best...I got an idea in my head, then it didn't look as vintagy as I would have liked it to. I did use Websters Pages, which normally have that nice vintage look...hope mine is ok. Anyways....here it is, and even if I don't win I like this layout! I needed to find a way to scrap these pics, and now it is done! Wish me luck! Again!

Sweet Treats!

This is totally NOT up my alley...I don't normally make stuff like this, but I can't resist a challenge! And this baby fits 2 different challenges, so bonus! Digi Kitty and Incy Wincy Designs both have challenges featuring 'Sweet Treats!' So I pulled out the Hippos Stamps again from Digi Kitty and made a candy holder! Ignore the wrong colored m&m's...I didn't have time to go get valentines colored ones! But I think I will give this to my daughter for Valentine's Day...since she IS obsessed with Hippos!

Well, I have been working on this one for a few days now and am FINALLY DONE! I have used yet another Digi Kitty stamp, 'a BIRD tweet new year!!' This is meant to be a New Years stamp set, but I think it is actually pretty versatile! I'm putting this in my miscellaneous stash of cards...could be a congrats card, or a birthday card, anything goes! I did manage to get a few challenges in on this one.....check it out below!

I'm in HOG HEAVEN!

I think I have become addicted to digi-kitty's stamps! They are just so CUTE! This piggy is super adorable, another 'had to have it!' So....I put him on a Sketchy Thursday sketch, and added some ColourQ colors, and this is what I came up with!
