Time to Kill!

For anyone who doesn't know me personally, this past week, I had a hysterectomy....on Tuesday the 24th actually. I've been laid up in my bed since and am bored out of my mind! Running out of stuff to do, I decided to turn my favorite album onto my ipod and start blogging.  Now, I just popped 2 pain pills before I started writing, so keep in mind....this post MAY ramble or not make sense....but that's half the fun of it eh?
So what shall I talk about? I'm thinking....things that make me happy maybe...that sounds good ;)
1. Music! I'm a giant music junkie! I'd much rather listen to music than watch TV. I mentioned my favorite album that I'm listening to now....I recently discovered a new artist from the UK, named Ed Sheeran. His music BLOWS ME AWAY! I got very lucky over Easter and caught him live while visiting my dad in DC to....the boy can SING! If you haven't heard of him, look him up! I love every song!  This is one of my favs:

And as an added bonus for my readers...heehee...I got to MEET the talented Ed at that concert...talked to him for a bit, convinced him to sing me a few lines of his song 'Kiss Me'...and then, I proceeded to actually kiss him on the cheek before making my exit. I know....sometimes I act like a crazed lunatic ;) IMAG0613

  2. Clouds! I have a huge obsession with clouds! I just love them. I am constantly photographing them! And you will definetly find lots and ls of clouds on my crafty projects. I'm not sure what it is, they just intrigue me. Here is one of my many photos I've taken with my phone (my memory card is half full of cloud photos!)
So how happy was I when this package arrived the other day, as I am laid up in my bed recovering.... IMAG0927
I was a tad bit upset that I hadn't received a single flower for my surgery...my sister had brought me balloons from her and the kids, and a few cards straggled in slowly...but this box of books from my mom..wow! Made me so happy. Now, I can read and learn about the clouds I love so much. And one of the books is a cloud collectors book...I can collect my clouds! SWEET!

3.  Nascar....and even more particularly....Brian Scott <3 my most favorite driver.  Watching Brian race every week jsut makes me happy. I was sad I missed Richmond this weekend due to being laid up in bed :(  My friend Melissa was nice enough to bring the track to me though...check out these 2 very special get well cards she delivered to me last night:
526751_162030497258460_100003545335964_206950_307027664_n This one was signed by a ton of people at the track...including Rusty and Kenny Wallace, a few nascar media members, and the track president even signed it! and this one here...well...y'all can guess who signed this one. and no...he didn't buy it...but he was nice enough to sign it for me! 579154_162022027259307_100003545335964_206938_404512383_n (let you in on another secret....on friday, while laying in bed all looped out on meds, i got a phone call from melissa at the track....and who did she put on the phone to wish me well? GUESS!)

4. well, at this point, it has taken me all day to make this post because those pills i popped this morning...i don't know if they were the special super powered pain pills or what, but they knocked me for a LOOP! I haven't been right all day.  I'm STILL feeling icky actually so I gotta wrap this up...maybe with a to be continued at a later date or something.....

I'll end by saying thankyou to those who have been here for me this past few days and have cared. It means alot to me!!! Times like this people certainly show their true colors and you learn who is there for you no matter what! and who sadly...isn't. I am blessed to have such good friends and family. I hope tomorrow is better, today truly has been AWFUL!

Bristol Baby!

So, this past week has for sure been eventful!!! We left last Tuesday for a family camping trip in Bristol, TN for some nascar racing short track style! woohoo!! We are on a budget, so it was tent camping and well...it was a bit rough! Check out our campsite:

Thursday was a big day! We originally planned to go to downtown Bristol the street fair, but some of my twitter friends invited us to hang out with them instead and catch the monster truck car crunch later that night....so we did that instead ;)While we were there, we got to meet Jennifer Jo Cobb..
IMAG0546

Good THING! While we were at the monster truck thingy, what are the odds they were giving out a ride in teh monster truck driven by no other than my most favorite nascar driver Brian Scott! All I had to do to win was catch a tshirt that was being launched by one of those shirt launcher things. (easy right? lol) So one was being launched, and it was coming my way...i was gonna catch it...until it went over my head..ugh! I saw some guys wrestling over it, and debated jumping in, until i saw that one of them was my husband! ha! he was wrestling some dude for the shirt...and he got it! YAY!!! So...I went and got my wristband and instructions to come back the next day for my ride with Brian! On the way back to camp, we watched the hauler parade...alexis got very excited when Kasey Kahnes hauler drove by...
DSCN0096

Friday...what a big day! My big day ;) Seemed like it took forever for it to be time to head over for my big monster truck ride with Brian...lol... but...it finally got here!
First, my kids got to ride in the monster truck with daddy with just the normal driver...
DSCN0124

then Brian arrived...*sigh*
and as i was waiting for our time to get on the truck...
couldn't resist!

Brian came in 10th that night (woohoo! top 10!) and for some reason, i decided it would be a good idea to do 10 pudding shots for his 10th place finish
IMAG0562
(these are pudding shots..yum!)
and this was on top of the million other shots/drinks i had already had after my meeting with brian....i was a little excited...lol)

Saturday started off a little rough...wonder why?! haha!
Cup race day...yay!
Im not as enthusiastic about the cup race sicne Brian races nationwide...but still..it's the cup race! woohoo!

and then, we would have been heading home teh next day....had hurricane irene not slammed our hometown! Jaime thought that he'd rather go to his parents for a few days in case anything was still bad back here in norfolk, or maybe everyone who had evacuated would all be trying to get home, and well, he didn't want to sit in traffic! So....after a 2 day sidetrip, we are finally home safe and sound, and happy to report, my house is in perfect shape! woohoo!
and...in just less than 2 weeks, i'm going to Richmond for another race weekend...lol...funny how that works out eh?

so that's my fun story ;) happy to be home! and in a few days, i'll have my cell back...yeah, it broke while we were down there (no fault of mine!)

Now maybe someday I will get back in my craft room eh? it's long overdue!
thanks for visiting my blog today!

i need your help!!!!

**EDITTED....I ALTERED THE BLACK SHIRT!**

Ok my blogging friends, I need your help! Richmond is coming up this weekend and I just cant WAIT! Recently, I have designed a few shirts by getting crafty on actual shirts....stamping/ironing/attatching bling! And now I have 2 that I really like and can't decide which one to wear on Friday! Keep in mind, I am 99.9%sure I am going to get to meet Brian Scott on Friday, so he will see whichever of the shirts I choose. Granted....the white shirt, I sent him a picture of the design before I made it, when I asked his permission to put his name on a shirt, had to make sure it was legal and all ;) He said he liked it, but now I'm starting to get a bit nervous about actually wearing it in front of him! I don't know....decisions decisions!!!! I really like the white one, but, well...black is more slimming than white! The black shirt hides my tummy a hell of a lot better than the white one! Help me out where, which one do you think I should wear???

** NEW AND IMPROVED BLACK SHIRT--YES, I PAINTED ON IT!**

Just leave me a comment saying the black one or the white one...i appreciate y'all taking the time to help, this is stressful! thanks!

This needed to be a post...

This is another nascar post about Brian Scott...heehee!
So, I have been cheering for Brian for over a year now, since I first laid eyes upon him when he won the Dover truck race in May of 2009. I used to cheer for Johnny Benson until he won a championship and then lost sponsorship (how does this happen?????). Then, I had noone to cheer for in trucks, so I picked Brian...hot young rookie who had just won his first race! There is your background for me cheering for Brian, since some of you are probably like..huh? Wasn't she all gaga over michael waltrip??? Brian was and is a whole other cup of tea....lol! (and michael did something on a personal level that highly disappointed me, but that is another story all together!). When I started following Brian on twitter, I was follower #35 I think...he has close to 2000 now....
Anyways.....I really reallly like Brian. Yes, he is smokin' hot to look at, but boy's got talent! He moved up from trucks to Nationwide series this year, and is well on his way to being Rookie of the Year! I see Brian racing in cup in the next 5 yrs.
I have done everything I can to show my support of Brian over this past year. I have left my mark lol...I have never met Brian or obtained an autograph...BUT....my efforts have not gone unrecognized, as I found out about an hour ago. Brian is signing autographs in Charlotte tonight (well, he was from 7-8pm). A twitter friend of mine was going, so i told him to tell Brian 'hi' for me. Coincidentally, this same friend has doen this for me before lol....somehow I am just never lucky enough to be in the right place at right time! So, he tells me he will be sure to tell Brian I said hi. A little later, I check my twitter, and see this from the guy : " He said you were his biggest fan...and said hi back."
My response...shut up! did he really say that??? Yes....indeed he did. I can officially call myself Brian Scott's biggest fan! I'm honored to have the title, truly I am! I mean, in actuality, Im sure his family and friends are possibly bigger fans than me, but of the people who are on the outside...it's me! I couldnt' say that ever with Michael. Thereh were so many people who were way more obsessive than i was.....lol! But I own this one....and am proud to sport the title of Brian Scott's biggest fan! This makes me so happy...hence the blog post!!! I had to share and spew my happiness into the blogosphere!!!! Yes, as I said before, I'm a loon! But...a happy one!!! Thanks for sharing in my looniness! Meet ya at the looney bin! ha!
EDIT: I found this post I made last year....haha....yep...i've been obsessed for awhile ;)

omg....is that layout??!!

May Sketchy Saturday Week 2

Why yes....I think it is!!! I finally made another layout! I have been out of ink in my printer for quite a while and well, I went and replaced it the other day so I could print out a picture or two! This happens to be one of my new favorite pictures! We went to the race in Richmond a few weeks ago, and I had the honor of waving the flags for Joey Logano when he qualified for the Nationwide race. I REALLY wanted to wave it for Brian Scott, but they wouldn't let me....so I took Joey! This was the chance of a lifetime to wave the flag! How cool to be up above the track in the flagstand! *sigh* So I scrapbooked it! I used a sketch from Simply Scrapping Crafts....my layout is a reallll rough representation....I flipped it and rearranged a bit...lol! Here is the sketch so you see what i mean:

Can you see it at all? LOL! Well....anyways...it was fun to dig into a layout finally!!! Thanks for stoppin' by! Now time to watch the Survivor finale!

2 trips to Heaven in one year???(Richmond!!!)

OK WOW! I'm actually still reeling from this past weekend, but have FINALLY gotten time to sit down and tell the tale! And oh, what a tale it is! Richmond....the race I have been looking forward to for quite a while....a race, in my backyard, 2 days before my birthday....what more could I ask for????

So Friday, Lesley and I headed up to the track to see what was going on that day. We really wanted to see Riki Rachtman, but found out rather quickly that his appearance was not for the general public...oh well right? We would see him on Saturday, hopefully! So we drank some brews and hung out at the track and had ourselves a GOOD time! Maybe too good a time, because we figured out we had drank a little TOO much and were unable to drive home. So..we decided to stay and check out the Nationwide Race....

(les and I!)

(the Nationwide race...go Denny!)

Ahhh..Saturday has arrived....RACE DAY!!! WE packed up around 10am with me, Les, Tanisha, Tim and Zach and headed to teh track! Started off the day with a PINK DRINK!

Here are Les and Tanisha...2 of the best friends I could EVER ask for!

So the deal was.....about a month before the race, I had scored some VIP passes for being a Sprint customer and having race tickets. I had 2 passes to attend the post race Chase celebration in Victory Lane! How cool eh? Of course, I always felt bad about this, as I had 5 people in my party. I felt horrible that Tanisha, Tim and Zach would not be able to go with us to the celebration, but they were ok with it. Until, the opportunity presented itself....

I was also the messenger for the Walnutz this weekend, which meant, I was deliivering fan letters to Michael Waltrip and David Reutimann. I had these 2 binders full of messages for them that I had to drop off. When I went to the track, I had high hopes that I woudl meet Michael at his souveneir trailer, but those hopes were dashed when I found out....not gonna happen. I resigned myself to the fact and dropped off the binders with Mike in the trailer (Mike who works there, not MW!) A few minutes later, Tim wondered off...wtf TIM! We hunted him down on the other side of the midway, and low and behold, what do my ears hear? I hear 'and Michael Waltrip will be appearing.....' and it drowns off....OMG! where! when! I must find out! Further investigation and I find out it is at the Sprint tent! AND...they are playing Sprint PLINKO! So i run over, as I have a Sprint phone right? Come on! I have a blackberry with a Michael Waltrip skin on it! So, I get to play PLINKO, and what do i win???? 2 more VIP passes! So now Tim and Tanisha are hooked up for the party! POOR ZACH!!! BUT! even BETTER (for me....heehee) as I am up there, the guy who has me playing plinko, gives me....a private meet and greet pass to meet Michael! What are the odds???? So now, i am meeting Michael, Tim and Tanisha have VIP passes! WOW! and THEN, Tanisha manages to get one more pass for Zach! It is amazing! Everyone is happy! OMG! I have to go retrieve teh binders so I can deliver them in person!!!

So......I go get teh binders....and prepare to meet Michael! Turns out....I can take one person with me...and Les demands that Tanisha go! Awesome!!! And here we go, teh big meeting! Check out this picture...see that smile? It is for ME! Michael came back with a huge smile, walked over and gave me a super huge hug! I about melted..He asked if I had something for him, which now I knew, he knew who i was! Tanisha asked, jsut to be sure....LOL! She is like....'do u know who she is???' and he confirmed!

So I deliver teh binders.....

and get my picture!

ANd then go out to watch the public appearance...which, I am so incredibly happy, nothing else matters!

So then, I had pit passes too....and Tim and I tour the pits...look! it is Wendy Venturini!!!

Michaels pit box...awesome!

the most beautiful car in the world...

ANd now....into the track....

the second most beautiful car.

the 3 of us!

and then the REAL fun begins! we headed inside the track at lap 360.....I met Miss Sprint cup! Anne Marie! She (and Monica!) are AMAZING!

And then, for the second amazing moment of my day....I got to talk to Jimmie Johnson!!! We got to ask the chase drivers anything we wanted, and all i wanted to do was wish Jimmie Johnson a Happy Birthday! I am exactly 3 days older than him and wanted to share! So....i got the microphone and told him! I was shaking teh whole time! my lips were quuivering, it was amazing! I tlaked to Jimmie! WOW! He said thanks, I told him about my bday, he said 'so we are in this together!'....wow! look! here it is! he is talking to ME here!

And then......they ssang happy birthday to me! in Victory lane! WOW! I feel so incredibly lucky! I think I am the luckiest girl in the entire world! And so lucky to have friends like I do....I am so glad they were there to share my day with me! It was teh best day ever! Here are a few more pics from Victory Lanee.....we got up close in personal with the drivers!

This truly was like a trip to heaven.....I am not sure I have come down yet...it was amazing. Funny, I keep thinking of other things I would have said to Jimmie and Michael if I could go back....guess I will have to wait til next time eh???!!!!! Hope you enjoyed reading about my adventures at the track!!
